A strong start, new leadership, and a bright future
When we started Tascent two years ago, we hardly dared dream we’d come this far, this fast. In that time we’ve launched a ground-breaking mobile identity platform and an award-winning iris recognition system, created significant new partnerships and customer base, expanded reference customers such as London Gatwick and Dubai airports, and opened offices in Washington DC, Singapore and Dubai. That’s due to the efforts of our amazing team and the support of our partners, customers and investors at Tano Capital.
After hitting these milestones and setting Tascent on its upward course, our CEO, Dean Senner, has decided that the time is right to transition leadership of the company and pursue new interests outside of Tascent. We are delighted to say that moving forward, we will be taking joint responsibility for leading Tascent, as co-CEOs. In many ways, this is more of a continuation than a transition. Working alongside Dean, we’ve been intimately involved in the leadership of the company for the past two years, so it is natural for us to continue to do that together.
We want to take a moment to thank Dean on behalf of the team, and personally. Dean’s calm, thoughtful, yet tenacious approach has helped Tascent transform a breakthrough optical technology into a family of world-class biometric products. His leadership positioned Tascent to win new business, build terrific partnerships, and put together a strong management team. In doing so, he’s put Tascent on a great path and given us real momentum.
Since Tascent’s inception, we’ve felt that our complementary skills and collaborative approach have meshed well to serve the company, our partners, and customers. Between the two of us, Alastair has a background in biometric software and solutions, previously heading up Accenture’s biometric technology team, while Joey’s track record is in leading product development and marketing, most notably with Tascent’s predecessor, AOptix. With our combined backgrounds and shared passion for the business, our goal is to make Tascent the company that does biometrics the right way: with integrity, agility, and a consistent focus on our customers.
This is an exciting time to be in biometrics, now that the technology is becoming part of people’s everyday lives, whether they’re unlocking a phone, paying a restaurant check or speeding through immigration without their passport. InSight One embodies Tascent’s approach, making biometrics fast, accurate, and enjoyable. We’ll hold on to those principles as we develop our next generation of solutions and services.
We are thrilled to be leading Tascent in this next phase of growth.
